December, 2014 December Magic
December is a month filled with all sorts of events and happenings that keep everyone busy and entertained. Busy is probably the most challenging aspect of this potentially fun filled time. Who knew that one day, December 25th, could generate so much activity. I know that there are many who begin preparations for this day almost a year in advance.
October, 2014 Slipping into Fall
Over the past month the shift in energy has been renewing. The summer months bring a crazy, busy, tourist energy that is palpable and at times a bit difficult to bare. This ends up permeating most of the Central Coast communities and at times we locals feel a bit overwhelmed. We sometimes get caught up in it and become anxious and cranky ourselves.
September, 2014 Summer Time Softly Closes
Flowers are one of the many products of nature during the summer months. The Central Coast boasts a magnificent bounty of this amazing gift almost everywhere one looks. The shop owners and inn keepers utilize this bounty to call awareness to their businesses which delights the eyes of the beholders.
August, 2014 Changing Spaces
Settling in to any new location takes time and patience when determining the priorities. Do you unpack the dishes first or the bedding? Does one stock the refrigerator or go out to eat? So many decisions to make so one can feel more quickly at home.
July, 2014 Independence Day
Independence Day is upon us as we celebrate the citizens of our great country. Every year we are reminded that through a new vision, determination and hard work, our new country broke its ties with the United Kingdom to stand on its own as a land and people. 1776 was many years ago and I wonder what those who declared this triumph would say looking at how we have handled their victory.

I so enjoy low tides at the beach as so much is revealed that, at most times, is just out of view. There are many grasses that are almost iridescent and of so many colors. As the water reveals the greenery the various patterns of how they lay when exposed is amazing.

April, 2014 Coastal Fragrance
The Central Coast offers a huge variety of smells to entice the visitors and locals to stop and look for what is creating the aroma wafting their way. While there are many things here that are located in many other places, this area provides a few surprises.
March, 2014 Sounds of the Central Coast
Many of us are fortunate to wake up to the sounds of song birds singing a good morning to each of us. Thankfully this occurs here on the Central Coast as well. While it may be difficult to identify each bird and its song, I am certain there are many finches in the mix. With the abundance of a variety of trees here, it apparently attracts a wide range of birds that are happy to awaken us with song.
February, 2014 I am Home!
How could I have been away for so long? I left early May and arrived back on the 13th of January. Whew, what a relief to again be on the Central Coast. I missed so many things about this amazing area and now I am relishing in the bounty of all that I love here
January, 2014 Have a Wonderful New Year -
A new year can mean a lot of things. To some it is the beginning of what they hope is a better time for them. For others it is a respite from the previous year. For me, it is a time of reflection on what, if anything, I would like to change about my life.
