For the comfort of all attending events, please come fragrance-free to all our programs.
Morro Bay Friends of the Library hold regular book sales to raise funds for the library. Friends also provide volunteers to support library services and operations, publish a quarterly newsletter and maintain awareness of library needs and services throughout the community. Morro Bay Library Remodeling Set to Begin
Remodeling of the Morro Bay Library is ready to
begin. The project will kick off with a community open house
from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 21, before temporary closure of
the site at 625 Harbor St.
Community members are invited to gather for pizza and lemonade
and a chance to reminisce with friends and bid farewell to the
old interior before the building is extensively remodeled and
upgraded to provide new, expanded, up-to-date library services.
For those who like to express themselves in writing, there will
be pens available to write good-bye messages on the walls.
The building will close officially at 5 p.m., and party-goers
will join a parade to the temporary library location just a
block away in the old Transit Center at 535 Harbor St., next to
City Hall.
The temporary location will open for business at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, June 24, and will offer limited library services during
the remodeling project, which is expected to last several
months. |
