Pecho Ranch Day
Join us for our annual Pecho Ranch Day, July 7, 11 am – 2 pm at the Spooner Ranch House, located in Montana de Oro State Park. Learn what ranch life was like over 100 years ago on what was then A.B. Spooner’s el Pecho Ranch.
Listen and dance to the Crustacea Jazz Band and sample homemade bread with butter and jam. Kids can participate at "Grandpa's Farm" by milking and roping 'cows' and making butter.
Other activities will include 4-H farm animals, stitchery, quilting, spinning, whittling, native plant identification, an exhibit of period weapons, and a hike to see historic farm features.
Bring your homemade pie by noon and enter the pie baking contest, which will be judged by State Park rangers and historical figures from the ranch.
For more information, call 805 772-2694 or go to ccspa.info. Pecho Ranch Day is great family fun in a gorgeous setting. It is free and open to the public. Come on out!
