First Love
My first boyfriend was my second choice:
Beth got Terry Bachman so I got Billy Cook
whose jaw hung, his tongue showing.
I looked down on Billy: girls were taller
in seventh grade. I wore his ID bracelet
and a motorcycle cap with his initials. Read More

One Poet's Perspective by Jane Elsdon
My love of flowers began at an early age. Back in the
thirties and forties of another century in New Haven, a small rural
town outside Fort Wayne, Indiana, both money and toys were scarce. So

Opera SLO by Kathryn Bumpass
Each summer Opera San Luis Obispo holds
an opera camp for kids 8-16 years old. It's an ideal activity for that
young person in your life who loves to sing and has a flair for the
dramatic. The camp runs for two weeks July 16-27, Monday through
Friday, 9am until 3pm. Rehearsals are held at the United Methodist
Church on Fredericks Street. The children learn singing and acting
techniques, build their own props, and get acquainted with the arts of
costume design and make-up.Read More
Shutterbugs, featuring Linda McDonald
The Central Coast and photography just seem to go hand
and hand. This area is so beautiful, it just beckons to be
photographed. We moved here just over 11 years ago and I am so
grateful to be living where nature predominates. Nature has always been
part of my soul and I am much more comfortable in a world that has more
dirt than cement. Living here is a dream come true. Read More
