Flowers
are one of the many products of nature during the summer months. The
Central Coast boasts a magnificent bounty of this amazing gift almost
everywhere one looks. The shop owners and inn keepers utilize this
bounty to call awareness to their businesses which delights the eyes of
the beholders.
Bougainvillea
flowers of various colors are visible as the plants happily climb
walls, trellises, and fences. There are places where I have seen it
growing along the eaves of homeowners roofs. The shades of color are so
beautiful and some almost seem iridescent.
Another
favorite are hibiscus flowers. Locally I have seen pinks, pale purple
and a lemon yellow. These seem to be some of the happiest flowers and
give off a feeling of pure joy. More people are including them in their
landscaping and they are a lovely addition anywhere.
There
are a huge number of coastal loving flowering plants that provide
uplifting vibes for those of us who enjoy their offerings. Jasmine
seems to bloom at least half of the year, as do the geraniums and so
many more plants I am unable to identify. It is such a pleasure to walk
the streets and enjoy all the benefits of these flowering plants in
landscapes and pots throughout town.
Lobelias
and dahlias have given me a marvelous mixture for flowers in one of my
pots. The contrast is wonderful plus they attract white butterflies and
hummingbirds.Difficult to get any better than that.
So,
as summer fades to fall, so will many of these beautiful creations. The
shades of color will change to oranges and rusts and such. And then it
will be the succulents that bring much color to the flower beds and
pots. And we all will be in awe of these amazing plants.
