Dear Editor,

What a wonderful publication you have here. My husband and I moved here from Long Beach in June. Friends live here and talked us into it. We were sold when we started reading the journal. Your writers are wonderful . . .. warm and friendly and so involved in whatever their subject is. My favorite is the bird guy - Mike Stiles. We want to get into birding, especially after reading his page for most of the last year. Does he teach classes?
Also, we want to kayak. Is there some place that can teach us? We are in our thirties. Is that too old to start? Especially since neither of us is very active. But we want to change that. Right now our idea of a workout involves walking through a shopping mall.
But, anyway, thank you for everything you write about and for all of the pictures. They are sure great selling points. You are like a chamber of commerce.

On August 3, 2012, Morro Bay City and Cayucos Sanitary District (CSD) staff issued a document titled, "Comments and Corrections to the CCC Staff Report regarding the City of Morro Bay and Cayucos Sanitary District Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade." The document alleges errors and omissions in CCC staff’s work.
In fact, the CCC document is accurate, factual, while the City/CSD document is seriously flawed. The arguments presented by the City and CSD are truly remarkable - for their lack of factual basis, for their "logic" full of holes so big that you could drive a bus through them, for the inconsistencies between arguments, and for overt displays of hostility toward, and disrespect for, the CCC.
Perhaps City and CSD staff hoped that citizens and the Coastal Commissioners would either not read their document, or would not read it carefully, and would thus be tricked into believing that the City and CSD staff actually had found actual mistakes in the CCC staff report. If they believed that, they were wrong.
Many people have read both documents carefully, and in doing so, have realized that the CCC staff is right on target, while the City and CSD staff are completely off base. I urge Journal readers to review the resident analysis of the City/CSD document. The analysis is available online at Morro Bay Issues.
