Local High School Student Wins $500 Scholarship
from Morro Photo Expo

Morro Bay High School senior, Sue-Lyn Dorrough was awarded a $500 scholarship on June 14 by Morro Photo Expo. Sue-Lyn, a Los Osos resident, will use the scholarship to further her studies in photography and graphic design at Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois.
This is a newly created scholarship from Morro Photo Expo. A Morro Bay High School student is chosen based upon submission of the student's portfolio and written essay. Sue-Lyn, in her essay stated, "My photographic style emphasizes that I am willing to try new things, whether it's changing the perspective or where I need to stand to ensure I get a fantastic shot that I am satisfied with."
The Morro Photo Expo is a three-day event with a keynote speaker and 30+workshops held in Morro Bay. The Expo provides photographers of all skill levels the opportunity to improve their technical and creative artistry in an encouraging, friendly, and social environment. The Morro Bay Art Association is the parent organization of Morro Photo Expo. The next Expo will be held March 30, 2012 to April 1 with registration beginning December 1, 2011.
