The Cayucos Peddler's Faire, Cambria's Craft Fair, Rotary Club Sunrise Centennial Horse Ride, and Mozart festival, a Coastal Discovery Fair, a Memorial Rock to Pier Fun Run, and a Portuguese Celebration are all a part of July on the Central Coast.

You'll be especially interested in the Cayucos Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks. This is family celebration at its best, with a sand sculpture contest from 5-8am, the annual parade at 10am, the Lion's BBQ from 11am - 3pm, bingo at the Vets' Hall at 3pm, then fireworks over the ocean at 9pm. Summertime is in full swing at the Morro Bay Library!  All these extra hours of summer sunlight make it the perfect time to read more books and join in the discussion at one of our adult reading programs.  Also, make sure to sign-up the children in your life for the Summer Reading Program when you come to the Library.

We are specifically looking for a few dedicated volunteers to coordinate our Farmers' Market Book Sales on Saturdays.  These sales are fantastic revenue generators for your Morro Bay Library.  You do need to be able to carry boxes and set-up tables.  It's always fun to chat with folks you know and to meet the many visitors to Morro Bay that shop at the market, as well.

Morro Bay Police Department File

Officers responded to a report of a wallet stolen from the counter at a business in the 400 block of Quintana Road. Officers viewed surveillance video and a suspect was identified and contacted at his residence. The investigation resulted in a District Attorney's filing on theft charges. The wallet was returned to the victim who was extremely grateful. Inside the wallet she had an irreplaceable wedding photo from 40 years ago. There's lots more.  Read More
