Should I Start a War?

by Dr. Robert Swain

Well, let's test the water and see what we get.  War is not always a bad thing.  Some good comes out of war.  Say what?  Good from war?  First we need crack and now war is good.  What is up with the doc you ask?   Is he off his rocker?

Some people think I am a little off my rocker because I am overly obsessed about the health of our society.  I must say that overall the people in Morro Bay are very health conscious.  But we all can do more to improve our health, including me.

The war I am talking about is the war of great health versus poor health.  Cancer vs. cancer free.  Diabetes vs. great health.  Living a long and healthy life vs. living long and suffering from poor health.

Are you in this war to win or just along for a ride to see where it takes you?  Great health is a proactive, not passive, sport.  Yes I call it a sport because it is the game of life. Life is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one.

We don't have to look forward to those ills of old age if we take care of ourselves. Most of these diseases are preventable.  Cancer stopped, diabetes stopped. Alzheimer's and Dementia prevented.   Sounds like a great future.  It is if you start now to go down the road of healthy living and healthy lifestyles.

And remember — poor posture accounts for many of our present day illnesses.

It's Not What You Gather, But What You Scatter That Tells What Kind Of Life You Have Lived!!!

Today is the oldest you've ever been, yet the youngest you'll every be again. So, enjoy this day while it lasts.

Now for the answer to last month's questions.

The state where one out of every 64 residents has a pilots license is Alaska.
The state to first allow women voters is Wyoming.
The state that is home to the largest office building is Virginia (the Pentagon).

This month's questions are:

Which is the only state that doesn't follow Daylight Savings Time?
Which state has the city of Santa Claus and receives a half million letters yearly?
Which state had the first brick paved street?  Clue it was Summers Street.

As always stay well, win the war against disease, and enjoy a long healthy life.
