Improving Your Health

by Dr. Robert Swain

Many of you have asked about little things you can do to improve your health.  So here we go.

Putting a crouton on your sundae makes it a salad.

The handle on your recliner qualifies as an exercise machine.

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Cook with the four food groups: canned, bagged, boxed, and frozen.

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.  This is especially true with your health.

Your health is not a joke.  There are no short cuts to good health, but here are a few serious, easy things that do work to improve your health.

First let me explain something about inflammation.  Inflammation is a major cause of arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, heart disease, and cancer. It speeds up aging and ultimately death.

The first thing to do to combat inflammation is cut out foods that cause it: fast foods, processed foods, sodas (especially diet), genetically altered and chemically treated and fertilized foods.  Your body is natural not chemical.

I know.  How boring is this?

Give it a try and you will find many good tasting, natural foods to eat.  Let your creative juices flow.

Your Ph levels are very important for good health.  You can purchase Ph strips at drug stores and health food stores.  Test your saliva and keep your Ph around 6.5 to 7.

Drinking a spoonful of organic apple cider a day will help with your digestion and overall health.  Just ask you grandma about it.

You need a minimum amount of water to maintain your body's ability to flush out toxins.   When you drink the water is important to help prevent heart attacks — two glasses of water after waking up to help activate internal organs, one glass thirty minutes before meals to help digestion, one glass before taking a bath to help lower blood pressure, and one glass before going to bed helps to avoid stokes and heart attacks.  Water at night also helps to prevent leg cramps.

With the advent of the internet, all this information is available to you.

Of course, you also need to maintain a sound nervous system.  It controls and co-ordinates all the other systems of the body: digestion, circulation, lymphatic, muscle, vision, hearing, breathing, and my ability to type this article.

If you have any questions about your health, nervous system, anti-inflammatory foods, or any health related issues please give me a call.  The quicker you get on top of a problem the easier and quicker it can be resolved.

Thank you and stay well.  Dr. Bob.
