Central Coast Sunsetsby Roe Yeager
I have been fortunate to be present for many of them and more fortunate to be able to capture a few on camera and phone. It always amazes me that the actual picture is different than what I think the picture will be. It is also curious to me that sometimes I think the sunset will continue to get more spectacular and it simply fades and other times it becomes so much more than I anticipated. I realize there are various reasons for what occurs, so I leave the explanations to the experts. I will simply continue to enjoy what nature provides. The evening of the previous Lighted Boat Parade in Morro Bay was a perfect example of what a sunset can do and be. Just when I thought it was at its peak, it continued to intensify and thrill all of us standing on the pier. I was captured by the beauty of the sunset, as well as the silence of the others as we stood in awe of what was before us. It was completely captivating and inspiring. One of the homes I have occupied while living in Morro Bay was close to town/ There was a view of the top of the rock. A short wall separated the neighbors yard and mine and when either of us caught a glimpse of a potential stunning sunset we would call the other, meet at the wall, and enjoy together. Joyce and I spent many evenings standing there sharing each others company while entranced by the workings of Mother Nature.
