This January the San Luis Obispo County Libraries begin their Adult Winter Reading Winter Program, "Hot Reads for Cold Nights!" Read nine books and receive prizes and surprises. The fun starts on January 14 and ends April 15. Pick up your form now and add some of our Morro Bay Book Discussion books to the list.

Tuesday, January 15, 5- 7 p.m. Free iPhone Class - Basics and Advanced Functionality by Morro Bay Resident Aaron Anderson
This reoccurring workshop provides a free hands-on introduction to the iPhone and an advanced class on some of the less obvious aspects of iPhone ownership. Please call 772-6394 to Reserve your Seat.

Fridays

January 4, 8:00 a.m. - 10 a.m., Internet Basics with Greg Perry, KCBXnet Instructor (Class 2 meets on January 11. Must go to Class 1 in order to be eligible to attend Class 2.)

By attending this course you will: 1) learn how to navigate the web safely; 2) find quality websites while searching for the information you need; and 3) know what to look for when making online purchases and avoid scams and viruses. Because this class is offered at a time before the Library opens, you must register with the Library staff in advance to participate. The course is limited to 6 adults. Call 772-6394.

January 25, 10 a.m. - Noon Join us for our 4th Fridays Mystery Readers Group as we read and discuss The Leopard by Jo Nesbo

The North Coast Writer's Club is here to lend support, accountability and encouragement for your writing projects - especially if you are interested in self-publishing. Bring your writing samples. More information: 771-9803

January 19 - 3 - 4:30 p.m. Winter Bird Festival Workshop "Shorebirds of San Luis Obispo County" - Free to Public
Not every bird found at the shore is a shorebird; not every shorebird is found at the shore. Using beautiful photos, Ed Harper's workshop will help to sort out the many species of shorebirds that spend Fall and Winter season with us in San Luis Obispo County.

January 26 11am to noon The Role of Flowers in the Community Garden with Johannah Varland, Master Gardener
Join Master Gardener Johannah Varland, head gardener of the Estero Bay Community Garden in Morro Bay to learn more about cultivating a community garden.

Books for the Wednesdays programs are available for checkout in advance at the Morro Bay Library.

Morro Bay Friends of the Library hold regular book sales to raise funds for the library. Friends also provide volunteers to support library services and operations, publish a quarterly newsletter and maintain awareness of library needs and services throughout the community.
