Saturday, February 2, Friends of the Library Book Sale at the Morro Bay Community Center.

Members only will be admitted to the sale from 9 to 10 a.m. with the public sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A $3 per bag sale will be from 1 to 2 p.m.

"The Language of Flowers and Plants" with Adam Hegg, Owner of Coastal Landscapes and Katie Finley, Owner/Photographer of Dunes Street Photography and Co-Owner of Sojourner Shop. Join us as we have the opportunity to learn about how flowers and plants influence some of the beautiful landscape designs presented by Coastal Landscapes.

In partnership with Cuesta College’s Book of the Year program, we will discuss how the language of flowers is a gift possessed by the main character, Victoria that helps her through the trials of life.

This will be our last 4th Wednesdays @ the Movies program. Hollywood 1927. George Valentin is a silent movie superstar. The advent of the talkies will sound the death knell for his career and see him fall into oblivion.

Vanessa Diffenbaugh, author of the best selling novel that we just read and discussed on February 20, will visit Cuesta College for a free reception, lecture and book signing at Cuesta's Cultural and Performing Arts Center SLO Campus. Parking $2.00.

Marissa Fordham is dead, but her daughter is found at the crime scene, injured but alive. Now detective Tony Mendez and child advocate Anne Leone begin to peel back the layers of Marissa's life.

This January the San Luis Obispo County Library's began their Adult Winter Reading Winter Program, "Hot Reads for Cold Nights!" Read 9-books and receive prizes and surprises. The program ends April 15.

Books for the Wednesdays programs are available for checkout in advance at the Morro Bay Library.

Morro Bay Friends of the Library hold regular book sales to raise funds for the library. Friends also provide volunteers to support library services and operations, publish a quarterly newsletter and maintain awareness of library needs and services throughout the community.
