Upcoming Local Political Events

June 2 - Mark Buchman, who served for five years on the San Luis Coastal Unified School District and has spent 35 years in education, will speak on the status of education when the Cambria Democratic Club of the North Coast meets at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday at the Cambria Vets Hall, 1000 Main Street, Cambria.

Buchman also volunteers in after-school programs at Laguna Middle School and Los Osos Middle School and works with more than 100 school districts statewide consulting on legal mandates, education publishing, and public relations. 

Also on the meeting agenda is the  election of new officers, the making of plans for summer events, and reports from Susan Deever, treasurer; corresponding secretary, Judith Butler, Ron Sampson, and Joe St. Clair speaking on San Luis Obispo County Democratic Central Committee activities. 

This will be the club's last meeting until October.

June 21 - The El Moro Democratic Club will view the documentary "A Question of Power" at its regular 3rd Tuesday meeting, June 21. It depicts the early protests against establishing the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant. The meeting will be held at Round Table Pizza Parlor, 1050 Los Osos Valley Rd., Los Osos, at 7:00 p.m. Come at 6:30 if you wish to order food. All are invited regardless of political affiliation.
