The car in the left of the picture above is a Honda that is being towed out of the surf by a Morro Bay Harbor Patrol truck. It had been spotted by surfers about 75 yards off-shore just north of Morro Rock around 6:30am. Fearing someone might be in the car, Morro Bay police officers waded, in full gear, into the surf up to their thighs. When no one was found, a beach and ocean search was conducted involving the Morro Bay Fire Department, the Harbor Patrol, and the Coast Guard. See More
