Dear Editor,

From: Melinda and Jerry
Morro Bay

We do so enjoy Jean Wheeler's column on Los Osos' Elfin Forest. What an absolutely delightful place it is. Our grandchildren visit several times a year and they so look forward going there to watch for butterflies, run their fingers through the sand, and see birds. Thank you so much to Jean for her insights, observations, and obvious love of our precious, unique jewel of a spot.

Your new column "Poetic Justice" is compassionate, smart, and a fabulous idea. Hooray to Deborah Tabola for the work she is doing! She is amazing!

Los Osos

Michael and I always look forward to our yearly fall vacations. We have, over the past fifteen years, traveled to Europe (Spain, England, Austria and Belgium have been our favorites), Africa (we adore South Africa), and South America (mostly just Chile), but always return home with a new enthusiasm for the Central Coast.

That said, we read the Journal every single month, every single page, and absolutely love it! Your writers obviously love this place too and do a wonderful job of conveying their commitment to our coast. The photographs are divine - we always "flip through" each page first thing to see what's new and to take pleasure in greeting the regular images. Bravo to you and all of the crew for an amazing publication. We love you, love the Journal, and love this place we call home. Thank you all!

Los Osos

We went to the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History's 50th Anniversary event. What a great time we all had! This museum is a hidden treasure - everyone should visit and participate in their events. The manager, Rouvaishyana, is friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. The docents who demonstrated the displays were terrific. We need to support this fabulous, gorgeous little spot. If you haven't been there lately, I encourage you to treat yourselves and visit. Bring a picnic and make use of the outside tables with the amazing views - even watch golfers on the course below. Take the path up to the top of White's Point. Trust me. The trip will do your soul good.
