Who We Are

The Slo Coast Journal is all about small town and rural life in one of the finest, most beautiful areas of the country. An amazing collection of eclectic, fascinating, and talented individuals from all walks of life have chosen to make this part of the coast their home. Those who don't already live here, wonder how they can make the move.

Our writers are an enthusiastic group of people who are on these pages to share their love of this special place. In case you are wondering, each is asked to pick a favorite animal for their banner. Some are a bit perplexing, but, oh well. Not only are the writers enthusiastic, they are sometimes a bit - ahh - let's say "unique." We welcome your input, suggestions, and, of course, praise. You can write to your favorite columnists from this page: Contact Us

The opinions expressed, whether by columnist, paid advertisement, or editorial content, do not necessarily reflect the views of this publication's management or staff.

Ideas for Columns

Do you have an idea for an ongoing column? We'd love to hear it. The criteria for being considered is simple - your column would have to pertain to the area of the coast we cover (Los Osos to Cambria). So, what's on your mind? Contact: Judy Sullivan

Submit Fiction or Poetry

We happily support local poets and fiction writers. If you would like to have a place to share your work, contact Judy Sullivan.

Submit Photographs

Do you have a photograph or three you would like to share with our site visitors? Send them along. If they are used, you will be credited, of course, and, if you like, we will link to your site. Contact Jerry Kirkhartfor consideration.

The images used on banners throughout the site are shared with us by a variety of photographers. Some do so anonymously. Where possible we like to acknowledge their talent and generosity. These folks include Cleve Nash, Mike Baird, Malcolm Riordan, Debbie Tubridy, Jerry Kirkhart, and Steve Sainsbury.

Advertising

Advertising opportunities are available throughout the Slo Coast Journal pages. We welcome businesses, web sites, and organizations. Ads can be placed on the page of your choice, though space is limited. So jump right in and support your favorite columnist. Payment is paid directly to them and is based on a flat rate per month. Some writers choose not to accept advertising and their decision will be respected. Contact Advertising or call 805 528-1292 for more information. We reserve the right to refuse advertising that, in our opinion, does not reflect the standards of the newspaper.
