Now You Can Listen Too!

by Dr. Robert Swain

I have some exciting news for all you readers. First, Estero Bay now has its own radio station — 97.3 The Rock. It is listener supported community radio.

Second bit of news is that I have a program on the station on Saturdays from 2:30 to 3:00 PM. It's all about healthier lifestyles. This covers the full gambit of what we do in our lives that can affect our health. Turn on, tune in, and enjoy. I want the program to be interactive with my listeners. The station plays a variety of music and hosted talk shows. If you have a program you would like to be carried on the station or want to host one, call the station at 772-2037 and tell them what your program will be about.

The recent emergency show was a great success. Unfortunately I was doing my radio show and was unable to attend, but heard feedback that everyone had a great time.

Working to Avoid Cancer

I would like to talk just a little about cancer. My niece was recently diagnosed with cancer. She is only in her 40’s. We all have cancer cells in our body at all times. It is up to our immune system to contain these cells so they do not grow into full-blown cancer. It we let our immune system fail, the cancer cells win the battle.

Here are some things that can affect our immune system. Stress, toxins, improper breathing, poor diet, lack of exercise, acidic environment, weak immune system, Candida and fungal infections, Genetically modified foods, chorine in our water, nor enough enzymes in our digestive system, and low levels of Iodine in our system. So you can see stopping the cancer cells growth in our body is a complex program. But you can win this battle. Eat healthy and a variety of fruits, vegetables and meat. Regular Exercise and positive thoughts to reduce stress and good breathing practices will help reduce your chances of developing cancer.
