Each day we awaken with the faith that with
daybreak the Sun will shine its light upon the
earth as the dawning of a fresh new day with all
its possibilities. As your Astro Guide, I will
highlight significant planetary shifts that will
be occurring during the current month that will
prove to be interesting and helpful as you
express yourself in the world.

The Manifestation of
Merriment, an Illusion or Reality? Does it
Matter?
by Lucille Bosco
During the festive month of December, the planetary stars
and their mythological characterizations appeal to our sense
of generosity of Spirit and play. The planet Jupiter governs
the astrological sign of Sagittarius. The three planets; Sun,
Mercury and Venus will be transiting in the sign of
Sagittarius. When describing the core meaning of Sagittarius,
the word “Sage” comes to mind. The fire of Sagittarius ignites
Spirit and warms our hearts, especially when the Goddess Venus
is involved. People’s hearts seem more open and generous.
Optimism becomes contagious. What an altruistic virus to
catch!
Centaur the Wounded Healer will offer his services as the
Archer with his bow and arrow infused with the essential oil
of Truth. These Sacred Teachings are available to all, for
they are our inheritance from ancient civilizations.
December 6th is the date of the Full Moon in the mutable air
sign of Gemini. This particular combination of Sun in
Sagittarius and Moon in Gemini sets up an intellectually and
intriguing opposition for the holidays. On the cosmic wheel of
evolutionary consciousness, Gemini is the first attempt at
reasoning.
Sagittarius is the last of the fire signs who has taken the
acquired knowledge of our minds to a higher consciousness for
the purpose of unification of humanity as a whole. So, in
essence, the exchange of ideas will definitely be lively and
hopefully will end with a singing rendition of “Joy to the
World.”
Soon after, on December 8th the planet, Jupiter, goes
retrograde while stationed in the sign of Leo. For some of us,
this could provide an opportunity to experience the heartfelt
meaning of the holidays by filling it with authentic
generosity instead of an awkward feeling of obligation. Stop
shopping and start living the true meaning of this season of
connection.
As we enter the period of the Winter Solstice on December 21st
there is a feeling of inward movement, followed by a time of
hibernation. A time for penetrating the depth of our soul that
is waiting patiently in the shadows. Some might misconstrue
the somber energies as depression, when in actuality it is the
influence from the planet Saturn, also known as Father Time
who is slowing the tempo of our body, mind and spirit.
The Sun (fire) and New Moon (water) will join Mercury (air),
Venus (air) and Pluto (transmutation of energy) who have been
stationed in the earth sign of Capricorn. Saturn is the
governing planet for Capricorn. Whenever there are multiple
planets transiting the same sign it increases the effect of
that elemental expression. Capricorn is dark and dense. It
demands structure. This seasonal cosmic soup needs to simmer
in our imaginations in order to… “separate the subtle from the
gross”….as we become our own Alchemist (MacCoun, p.52).
On December 23rd, Centaur, the Archer (Sag) comes along with
his bow and arrow lit with the magnificent fire to melt
through the lead structure of Saturn. We are now at the core
of our being. The natural law of integration leads to a
natural progression of a breakdown in order to have a
breakthrough. Rest and Relaxation will be the gift of this
season. Christmas Eve arrives on the 24th still laden with the
seriousness of Capricorn only to be tempered by the dreaminess
of Neptune in Pisces and the coolness of the moon in Aquarius.
The final note to be played on New Year’s Eve is up to you.
With the moon in Taurus it is best to satisfy all your senses.
My recommendation is to feed your soul and that will naturally
lift your Spirit.
MAY YOUR HOLIDAYS BE FILLED WITH MERRIMENT AND LOVE!
WISHING YOU A REWARDING NEW YEAR!
With Warmest Gratitude,
