State Park Docent Training Scheduled
The Spring docent training session for SLO Coast and Oceano Dunes Sectors of the California State Parks is scheduled for March 15, 22,29 and April 5, 2014.
Our docents are the heart and soul of our State Parks programs. We could use your help and creativity in a number of areas, including working with school groups, leading nature walks, acting in living history presentations, assisting with exhibits and collections, working in the Museum of Natural History, and supporting various other programs.Docents participate in activities at Pismo State Beach, Montana de Oro, Morro Bay State Park, Morro Strand State Beach, Estero Bluffs, Harmony Headlands and the Los Osos Oaks State Reserve.
Four training sessions will be provided to new docents. Each one is on Saturday morning from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. The sessions will start at the Morro Bay Natural History Museum in the auditorium. The following Saturdays will include Montano de Oro and Pismo Nature Center visits, and a final day at the Natural History Museum.Put your special talents to good use, expand your circle of friends, and come have a great time in some beautiful settings.
