March Madness Springs Into Action by Lucille M. Bosco, M.A.

The main themes of the retrograde movements of Mars and Saturn is the re-assessing of our relationships (Mars in Libra) leading to the re-structuring (Saturn in Scorpio) of these liaisons toward a more balanced association. Because the planets are located in the sixth “house” on the zodiac wheel, the relationships are in the genre of work, organizations, alliances of sorts, as well as embracing the healing arts for regeneration.
I will briefly mention the first Full Moon in the mutable earth sign of Virgo on March 16th. Virgo is in opposition to the mutable water sign of Pisces. Each of these signs expresses their mutability according to their element. Pisces feels the influence of the “God” particle from our solar system. Virgo studies the “God” particle to discern the spiritual influence.
A mere four days later, spring has sprung as the Vernal Equinox heralds the official “New Year” in the celestial sky. The spring equinox on March 20th is acknowledged as “International Astrology Day”. This marks the first day of the astrological calendar in the Sun sign of Aries represented by the Ram. The symbol of Aries represents the Ram’s horns or human nose and eyebrows symbolic of our individual nature. Alan Oken, Astrologer, describes the glyph as…”a fountain gushing forth water (consciousness) in an upward and outward direction” (1980, p.58).
Equinoxes indicate a time when daylight and nighttime are equal. The feel of the equinoxes are quite different. Spring fever is felt in the Northern Hemisphere of our Earth, as daylight increases and nature begins to wake up from its winter hibernation. We awaken to our journey of self-awareness that will be influenced by the Moon in Scorpio that joins the planets, Mars and Saturn in the sixth house of healing. Aries is a cardinal fire sign whose ally during this period is the Planet Uranus in Aries in the eleventh house of humanity. The implication of this aspect is the element of fire is only being activated by the Sun and Uranus, each in the fire sign of Aries. Since the Sun is our life force and Uranus is the Awakener, we surely will experience a dynamic shift in the healing of humanity that will touch each of us.
The momentum of the fire from the Sun and Uranus in Aries increases during a second Full Moon in the cardinal fire sign of Aries on March 30th. Full Moons have a tendency to intensify our emotions, which in the scheme of our lives is not a negative occurrence. It simply is our bodies’ elemental reaction to the movement of the water in relationship to cosmology. Our emotions (water) are the clues on how to take action (fire) with the integration of these powerful energies. Mars (ruling planet of Aries) in Libra will balance the waters and fire that lie within. Saturn in Scorpio will transform the composition of water and fire into purification of thought, word or deed. Nevertheless, the courage has to come from you. Human evolution begins with a commitment to Self. Time to ignite that fire in your belly!
