Dear Editor the Slo Coast Journal,

Unfortunately, the USA began the irrational tradition of employer paid health care during WWII. So much of the current turmoil could all go away with UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE! Why the corporate big wigs (except, of course the health care executives) cannot support this concept is simply ideological, not logical. Including the ability for the government to seek competitive bidding on meds, I declare that we should have MEDICARE FOR ALL. This would include veterans so we could eliminate the VA hospitals except for real war injury trauma. We could eliminate gigantic health care executive pay and the legions of clerical workers who are hired to find ways to deny claims. We could have more employment mobility. We could have earlier retirements for those who simply hang on to their jobs to keep their insurance. Doctors would need fewer staff to file one claim format instead of myriads of different forms for companies with different rules.

Good health is both a right and a responsibility of all citizens. Prevention is cheaper than cures. Health maintenance is better than disease maintenance ... we need to think deeply about this. The very wealthy of the USA have the best of all worlds -- high healthcare technology and the ability to pay for it. The rest of the USA citizens pay more that the rest of the developed world and get worse results.

We have lived on the central coast for thirty-two years and raised our five children here. We've seen all sorts of changes - growth, styles of housing, and politicians of every stripe. Thank you for your support of Jamie Irons for his second term as mayor of Morro Bay. He has done a fine job his first time around, despite continued obstruction from the remaining dregs of Yates' self-centered crew. Shame on them for caring only about themselves and their friends, not about the rest of this community. This second term with Mayor Irons should help to bring Morro Bay back to being more united and inclusive, building a stronger community.

Thank you also for providing the Journal for this community. We tell all of our friends and acquaintances about the Slo Coast Journal and your great writers. Well done!

What crap! You have no right to represent yourselves as being interested in my community. You don't share any of my opinions and I've lived here since I was born! I know what is going on. You don't. You shouldn't be allowed to act like you have a clue!!! Because you don't. No one should ever believe what they read on the internet. You are proof of that.

Uhhhh . . . Thank you, Janice?
