Senate Bill 1132, jointly authored by Senator Holly Mitchell and Senator Mark Leno, will impose a moratorium on extreme oil extraction methods in California. The Northern Chumash Tribal Council Supports this Senate Bill.

The Northern Chumash Tribal Council (NCTC) is a 501c3 non-profit, federally and state tax exempt, dedicated to the preservation of the Chumash Culture. NCTC corporate offices are located in San Luis Obispo California at 67 South Street. NCTC was formed under the guidelines of California Senate Bill 18 April 26, 2006 as a California

State Recognized Tribal Government by the California Native American Heritage Commission, organized and dedicated to preservation of the California Native American Chumash Culture, and Sacred Sites. NCTC is dedicated to meaningful consulting with Federal, State, local governments, agencies, corporations, consulting with the development community, and supporting tribal community well-being.

Today we are seeing an enormous push from the corporate mega-giants invasions of Native Lands throughout the 'so-called' United States and Canada. Operations such as 'Tar-sands', the 'XL Pipeline' and 'Hydro-fracking' are not only the progressive policy of violating environmental regulations and laws they are also the main effect of destroying everything in their path from land, water, air, foliage, animal and human life. The reactions among, not only Native Peoples in both countries, but the general public at large armed with the endless scientific and medical documentation of these negative effects on the environment and the future, are raising alarming concerns. NCTC does not support Fracking of any kind, anywhere.

No Fracking!!!!!!
