Morro Bay in Bloom

By Walter Heath

Group

Morro Bay residents gathered October 26th for the first "Morro Bay in Bloom" planting and cleanup activity.  The grounds surrounding the Morro Bay Library were selected as the group’s first improvement project.  The Morro Bay Library will be getting a complete interior renovation in 2014.

Morro Bay in Bloom will be the second group in San Luis Obispo County to affiliate with the America in Bloom program of civic beautification.  Arroyo Grande is already a three-time national-award winning America in Bloom city.  Morro Bay will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its incorporation as a city in 2014.
Supervisor Bruce Gibson was on hand to celebrate the occasion, as were Morro Bay Mayor Jamie Irons and representatives from Arroyo Grande in Bloom.
