September 26, 2:00 pm Hunger Walk - The Hunger Walk is our opportunity to raise funds for the Food Bank and have fun doing it. Donating to the Food Bank is the best investment our generosity can make.

St. Timothy's Church in Morro Bay at PIney and Kennedy. Register at Slo Food Bank to walk, sponsor, or donate. This is a fun way to make a difference for the many folks who are in need. Music, refreshments, and people of all ages.

The Food Bank buys 10 lbs of food for every dollar we donate—7 meals. For $10, they will buy 70 meals—enough for a family of 4 for a week. And we need it!
The number of people in our county who need food has risen from 25,000 in 2006 to over 40,000 today. Over 1/3 are children, 15% seniors and half of all families who are clients of the Food Bank have at least one adult that is employed. Many new clients formerly had good jobs in construction and some were former donors.
The need keeps growing: 75% of the funds we raise through our Hunger Walk will stay in our community.
Here’s how the Hunger Walk works: Walkers recruit sponsors who donate money to the Food Bank in the walker’s name. Or, if a donor does not know a walker, he or she can still make a donation to our Hunger Walk. There is no minimum donation to be a sponsor or donor.

Thoughtful
I come. I sit. I observe the incoming storm. In the quiet moments before its arrival the breeze is soft and the sand is warm.

I ponder. I contemplate. I observe the crashing waves. My spirit soars higher and this moment in time my re-invigorated mind saves.
