A Sampling of What Our Officers Have Been
Taking Care of in January

Between January 1st thru January 26th, the Morro Bay Police Department had 1,046 logged calls. Here are just a few of them.

January 1 - Assault with a deadly weapon happened on Hemlock Avenue. Report of a subject hit in the ear with a BB or pellet gun.

Petty Theft on Luzon Street. Theft of a surfboard from an unlocked vehicle.

January 2 - Damage to local church on Ironwood Avenue. Several windows shot out with a BB gun.

January 3 - Disorderly Conduct/Drunk in on Morro Avenue. A 22 Year-old male reported a robbery, which was later determined to be unfounded. He was arrested for public intoxication and booked into San Luis Obispo County jail.

January 5 - Grand Theft on Main Street. A three wheel bicycle had been stolen.

January 6 - Cruelty to Animals on Anchor Street. Unknown person shot an 8-month-old kitten with a BB gun. Unknown if the kitten will live or not.

January 8 - Petty Theft on Atascadero Road. Two skateboards were stolen from outside the weight room at the high school.

Vandalism of less than $400 on Ridgeway Street. Victim reported vandalism to his landscaping that occurred overnight and a prior theft of a large two-foot by two-foot seashell.

Grand Theft on exceeding $400 on Trinidad Street. Late theft report of a laptop from an unlocked vehicle.

January 9 - Burglary 2nd Degree on Quintana Road. Juvenile arrested for theft of alcohol from a grocery store.

January 10 - Tampering/Injury to vehicle on Piney Way. Suspect used glass cutter to damage a vehicle window.

January 11- Grand Theft on Yerba Buena Street. Theft of construction tools and wallet from unlocked vehicle.

Grand Theft on Kodiak Street. Theft from an unlocked vehicle; still under investigation.

January 12 - Petty Theft on Atascadero Road. Theft of a skateboard from an unsecured hallway at the high school.

Burglary 2nd Degree/Auto on Napa Avenue. Two different vehicle burglaries on the same street under investigation.

January 13 - Burglary 2nd Degree on Piney Way. Suspects broke the window of a vehicle and stole an Ipod.

January 14 - Disorderly Conduct/Drunk on Quintana Road. A 51-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

January 17- Petty Theft on Kodiak Street. Garage door opener stolen out of unlocked vehicle.

January 19- Vandalism to a window on Hillview Street.

January 21 - Found Property on Main Street. A found wallet was booked into property.

January 22 - Disorderly Conduct/Drunk on Prescott Drive. A 46 year old man arrested for public intoxication.

January 23 - Disorderly Conduct/Drunk on Main Street. Report of a 59-year-old intoxicated female falling in the street. She was arrested for public intoxication and released on her signature of promise to appear.
