Each day we awaken with the faith that with daybreak the Sun will shine its light upon the earth as the dawning of a fresh new day with all its possibilities. As your Astro Guide, I will highlight significant planetary shifts that will be occurring during the current month that will prove to be interesting and helpful as you express yourself in the world.

The Milky Way Galactic Center is Gooey with Goodness:
Enjoy the Flavor of the Season!
Milky Way

The planetary stars and their mythological characterizations appeal to our sense of generosity of Spirit and play during the festive month of December. It begins with the Sun in Sagittarius, a mutable fire sign whose quality is infectious with optimism. Sagittarius embodies Centaur the Archer 1whose bow and arrow will be released in a moment's notice to protect the essential Truth of Sacred Teachings passed down from ancient civilizations. The planet Jupiter2 governs the astrological sign of Sagittarius.

When describing the core meaning of this benevolent planet, the first word that comes to mind is abundance. People’s hearts seem more open and generous. The portrait I paint reveals the image of Santa Claus. Yes, Jupiter is the “Santa Claus” of the Zodiac. Wherever and however your Jupiter is placed in your personal astrological chart will be an indication where you will continue to receive abundance throughout your life.

Jupiter continues its retrograde motion backwards that causes a negative spin on expansiveness into overindulgence. After all, it is the holidays! Jupiter is stationed in the sign of Cancer which represents all affairs connected to home and hearth. So, go forth and make connections and re-connections with family and friends during this season of sharing.

December 2nd is the date of the New Moon in Sagittarius. This particular combination of Sun and Moon in Sagittarius marks an opening in the Cosmos to be filled with a generosity of Spirit toward each other as well as ourselves. Soon after, on December 4th the planet of communication, Mercury transits into Sagittarius reigniting the fire ball of the Sun and the emotion of the Moon. Once again, the Centaur launches his arrow of truth into the fabric of the Cosmos sending flares with the intention of melting through the coldest of hearts. We all have the opportunity to become the Sage in our own lives, with an extra boost of optimism.

The wisdom to embody an armor of optimism will help us through the forth coming portal of change on December 17th when we will experience the Full Moon in Gemini in opposition to the Sun in Sagittarius. Gemini is the first air sign of communication in the evolution of our minds. Sagittarius is the last of the fire signs who has taken the acquired knowledge of our minds to a higher consciousness for the purpose of unification of humanity as a whole. Caroline Myss, (Sun in Sagittarius), author of “Sacred Contracts” was asked, What is your definition of God? Answer, God is Law. The Sagittarius energy is the Seeker of the Absolute Truth. This particular Full Moon will be infused with the electricity from the planet Uranus in Aries as it moves forward from its retrograde motion.  Take time to share your creative spirit in whatever form that fully expresses your essence.

On December 21st the Sun transitions into the cardinal earth sign of Capricorn ruled by the planet, Saturn – Lord of Karma. We are entering the season of the Winter Solstice, a time for hibernation. A time for fusing the fiery Sagittarius energy with the deep and penetrating aura of the Capricorn into a firm foundation of existence that has been waiting for us in the Shadows. The Capricorn (symbolized by the goat) has been slowly climbing up the mountain while manipulating gravity as an alchemical tool of transformation called Time. The tempo of your body, mind and spirit fluctuates. We feel solid. Our mind becomes clear. Spirit is given a space to enter. There is only ten more days of 2013 left. Then, Christmas Eve arrives on the 24th still laden with the seriousness of Capricorn only to be tempered by the dreaminess of Neptune in Pisces. Later in the evening the moon in Libra will balance these energies as a love offering as a sign that the Spirit of Christmas has arrived.

The final note played on December 31, 2013 will be a somber one with the Sun and Moon in Capricorn.  I would recommend a quiet evening at home to reflect on the gifts and challenges of 2013. The “Present” is your gift and the “New Year of 2014” is your reward.

May your holidays be filled with merriment and love!
Wishing you a rewarding New Year!
