October 1, 5:30 - 9:00 pm Los Osos Community Auction South Bay Community Center. "This family friendly event includes a Silent Auction, Live Auction, Santa Maria style tri-tip and chicken dinner served up by Bay Osos Kiwani, entertainment, “Dial-A-Diamond”, raffle and a special performance b y Red Skunk Jipzee Swing Band!  This year’s theme is Mardi Gras in October, and as you step through the doors you’ll be transported to New Orleans’ Bourbon Street for a fabulously fun street party for the whole family! "

October 5, 5:00 pm Wounded Warriors Dinner Cavalier Restaurant, Cambria. The wounded Warriors, many home from Iraq and Afghanistan, are cycling down scenic Highway 1 from San Francisco to Los Angles. Their goal is to raise awareness and money to provide artificial limbs and physical therapy for fellow military heroes. Come enjoy an uplifting and Patriotic evening with our nation’s Wounded Warriors. For only $35.00, you get dinner for yourself and sponsor dinner for one of these fine visiting military servicemen. Vote for your favorite amongst 100's of handcrafted, whimsical scarecrows. The 2-day Festival will be held at the Cambria Historical Museum, but the scarecrows will be popping up all over town! I come. I sit. I observe the incoming storm. In the quiet moments before its arrival the breeze is soft and the sand is warm.

I ponder. I contemplate. I observe the crashing waves. My spirit soars higher and this moment in time my re-invigorated mind saves.
