It is probably safe to assume that traditional petroleum based energy and centralized electrical energy will not produce lower costs over the long term. As those costs rise, the costs of home based or decentralized solar continues to look more and more attractive.

 

October, 2009          What Size Carbon Footprint Do You Wear?

 

There is a lot of talk these days about the carbon foot print. What size do you wear? Carbon footprint definitions vary, but is generally accepted as a measurement of the amount of carbon dioxide (and other carbons) that one's activity produces. This correlates to harmful green house gas emissions, reduction of natural resources, global warming etc. etc. There are carbon footprint calculators online. How do we minimize or reduce our carbon footprint? Consume less for starters.

Do you have any remodeling projects coming up? Perhaps a fresh coat of paint in the kitchen, bath, or a child's bedroom? If so, there are a lot of good choices out there for building it green. From paints to 2x4's, cabinets, counter tops, or flooring - there are options that are better for indoor and outdoor air quality and better overall for the environment.
